Flights from Podgorica to the Canary Islands: Eternal Spring in the Heart of the Atlantic

ETERNAL SPRING IN THE HEART OF THE ATLANTIC

TRAVEL TO THE CANARY ISLANDS

Spain, just off the coast of Africa and Morocco… Only 100 kilometers from the Moroccan coast lie twelve islands known as the Canaries. This is the perfect destination for anyone looking to escape gloomy fall days and cold winter weather.

TRAVEL TO THE CANARY ISLANDS

The sun shines here all year round! The islands enjoy a mild subtropical climate with relatively little rainfall. Seven of the twelve islands are inhabited, and what makes them even more appealing is that each one is different… The most popular with tourists are Tenerife, Gran Canaria, Fuerteventura and Lanzarote, thanks to their wonderful beaches, unusual landscapes, nature parks and charming towns, as well as well-developed tourist infrastructure. If you visit one of the other three islands (La Gomera, La Palma, El Hierro), you certainly won’t be disappointed…

Still, two of them stand out for their beauty: Tenerife and Gran Canaria

GRAN CANARIA

Gran Canaria is often called a “miniature continent” because of the variety of landscapes and climates packed into a relatively small area. You will love driving through desert and tropical scenery alike, and swimming and sunbathing on gorgeous sandy beaches that slope into the ocean while snow-capped mountain peaks tower above you…

There are great beaches all around the island, but if you love a good night out, the buzz of the city and everything a big city has to offer, you should stay in the capital, Las Palmas. The city was founded by the local Guanche people, who disappeared after the Spanish arrived. Five centuries of growth separate the medieval town from today’s modern, cosmopolitan city of more than half a million people… Today it offers visitors all kinds of entertainment: from shopping in the Triana district and excellent restaurants and pubs in Vegueta, a part of town so interesting and significant that it made the UNESCO list, to nightlife in the Santa Catalina district and beaches where you can relax and unwind… The best known and most beautiful of the three city beaches is Las Canteras.

FLIGHTS PODGORICA – LAS PALMAS

Podgorica – Las Palmas flights usually involve as many as two connections, with prices starting at around 350 euros. Podgorica – Las Palmas tickets can be booked with several airlines: Lufthansa, Alitalia, Swiss Air… A growing share of flights to Las Palmas is offered by Air Europa, Spain’s largest privately owned airline, based in Madrid. If you are searching for a Podgorica – Las Palmas flight yourself, the airport code is LPA

TRAVEL TO TENERIFE

Tenerife is the largest of the Canary Islands, and its climate is known as “eternal spring.” The island truly enjoys very pleasant weather all year round, so it is packed with tourists in every season. You are sure to be captivated by its natural black-sand beaches of volcanic origin, which is no surprise, since these islands were formed by volcanic activity 20 million years ago. The last eruption took place in the 19th century on the island of Lanzarote, and the third-highest volcano in the world is right here on Tenerife. It is called Teide, it rises more than 3,700 meters above sea level, and it is also the highest peak in Spain…

Tenerife, like Gran Canaria, has something for everyone… You can catch an orca or dolphin show, and you will surely enjoy watching the penguins!

If you love a good party, I definitely recommend visiting Tenerife sometime in February, when the world’s second most spectacular carnival takes place! So if Rio is too far away, head to Tenerife and soak up the wild atmosphere of a carnival that has been held here for several centuries!

FLIGHTS PODGORICA – TENERIFE

A Podgorica – Tenerife flight can be booked for around 330 euros. Podgorica – Tenerife tickets are available from KLM, Air France, Alitalia, Lufthansa… Tenerife has two airports, North and South. Tenerife South Airport, formerly known as Reina Sofía Airport, is the larger and busier of the two. Handling around 9 million passengers in total, it is one of Spain’s more important airports. If you are looking for a Podgorica – Tenerife flight yourself, the code is TFN.
