CITY OF LIGHT – PARIS
Looking for memories to last a lifetime? Maybe you’d like to climb up among the stars to the top of the Eiffel Tower, or feel the glow of the “Belle Époque” among the midinettes of Montparnasse? All this and much, much more awaits you in the City of Light, Paris. For art lovers, this city tops the wish list, and for lovers of fine wine and great food, Paris will be unforgettable!
The best time to visit is late spring (May–June) and the summer months, when the weather in this part of France is most settled. Keep in mind that Paris has an Atlantic-influenced climate, so moving air masses often bring clouds, and rain is common in early spring and fall. Winters here are mild, so perhaps the most romantic time to visit is during the Christmas festivities in December.
WHY PARIS?
A city of love, history, architecture, artists and fashion… Paris, a city filled with the aroma of world-famous French cuisine and the taste of fine French wines. For years it has been associated with love and lovers, earning it a reputation as the most romantic city in the world. A city that lives around the clock, through its wild nights and bustling days… It’s impossible not to fall in love with it… Its people have style, its architecture is seductive and alluring, and its restaurants and nightlife guarantee maximum enjoyment… There is no single best time to visit. Winter nights are perfect for warming up on open-air ice rinks, while in spring the flower gardens tempt you with their delicate scents… Paris is famous for Place de la Concorde, the most beautiful square in the world, the Champs-Élysées, the Louvre, the Arc de Triomphe, Versailles, the Palais Garnier opera house, the Moulin Rouge and, of course, the Eiffel Tower… More than 30 bridges, 400 churches, 200 avenues, 100 boulevards, thousands of grand palaces and dozens of parks… All this makes the city the world’s tourism mecca. It’s incredible how well Paris has kept its spirit, its look and its “joie de vivre”, despite all the people from different cultures who have passed through and who keep coming and going. Nonchalant and artistic on one side, elegant and refined, unrestrained and excessive, grand and imposing, drunk and sober… That’s Paris… It wears all its faces well, and every one of them suits it… Every visitor is surprised by the metro, which Parisians have turned into a little institution of its own. The city even holds special auditions for buskers and classical musicians who want to perform in metro stations, and for the lucky few who pass, this reference can help them land a spot in a more prestigious orchestra.
Paris has 1466 hotels with more than 76,000 rooms. Occupancy is close to 80%, and the average price per night is 146 €. Last year the hotel sector welcomed around 15 million guests, who spent a total of 36 million nights. Each year hotels alone earn around 4 billion euros, restaurants around 6 billion, trade fairs and exhibitions around 3.5 billion, and the city transport company and airports around 2 billion…
Parisian cafés are completely different from anything you’ve experienced before. Small tables typical of Paris, chairs mostly facing the street, good wine, nonchalant waiters… All wrapped up in the perfect setting of old Paris, with six-story buildings and tall windows that owe their existence to Napoleon III and the vision of Baron Haussmann. The French invented the café, so it’s safe to say they’ve been doing it longer and better than anyone else, including us Serbs, who love it so much…
GETTING THERE
FLIGHTS PODGORICA – PARIS
The best way to get to Paris is a Podgorica – Paris flight.
A Podgorica – Paris ticket costs around 225 euros, flying into Charles de Gaulle Airport. If you’re searching for Podgorica – Paris flights yourself, write Paris as “Paris”, and the airport code is CDG.
To get from the airport to the city center, you can take the RER train, which runs very frequently (Line B, blue) and connects one of Paris’s largest train stations (Gare du Nord) with Charles de Gaulle Airport. A one-way ticket costs 10 €. From Gare du Nord, the metro will take you quickly and easily to any part of Paris. Of course, if you prefer comfort, you can take a taxi from the airport, which is generally not expensive: a ride to central Paris will cost you around 50 €. If you’d like a taxi transfer from the airport to, say, a hotel in central Paris, we recommend booking it online in advance, where you can also arrange your return taxi at a lower price.
Charles de Gaulle Airport is about 30 km from the city and is France’s main international airport, handling many millions of passengers a year.
I recommend booking your Podgorica – Paris flight early, as you’ll be able to find a better deal on your ticket. It goes without saying that the best Podgorica – Paris fares are offered by Air Serbia!
